*FTC Disclaimer: I received a copy of Crossing the Line from Nikki Rose in exchange for an honest review. I have in no way been influenced by the author and/or publisher’s generosity. You can’t fake these stars, baby!
He’s a killer able to reach even the most untouchable marks and she’s his new obsession. Watching from his balcony, Hunter can’t fight the force pulling him toward the girl who just moved in across the street. The sexy little brunette bouncing around her apartment unpacking boxes has him searching for a way to get closer. He never expected to be watching from the shadows as the police take her away. If he wants a chance with her, he has no choice but to follow.
All Addy wanted was a new beginning and a chance at a normal life after leaving her cheating ex. She never expected her new start to include witnessing a brutal crime and being forced to relocate while the police searched for the killer. Finding herself waiting tables alone in a new town isn’t exactly the start she was hoping for until the handsome stranger at table four turns her world upside down.
First Line: “With my hand in my jacket pocket, I rolled the syringe between my fingers, carefully slipping the cap from the needle.”
Just for added effect, I’m going to repeat the first line of this book for you all.
“With my hand in my jacket pocket, I rolled the syringe between my fingers, carefully slipping the cap from the needle.”
Good God! Is he a druggie? A murderer? Who is this man!
Nikki Rose is one of my favorite authors after reading this book. It’s taken me quite a while to gather my thoughts on her writing because I’m literally blown away. I’ve never read a book with such power behind its words.
Let’s get to itttt.
Adelaide just wants a fresh start (don’t we all haha). After her nasty ex-boyfriend cheated on her, she runs for the city to try something new. I’d probably run for the mountains, so I don’t totally relate to her here, but we all have our safe place.
Just as she settles into a comfortable rhythm and starts to make friends, her life takes another twist down the drain. On a night out with new acquaintances, Addy ends up the unsuspecting witness of a murder and just like dat is swept away by the police to witness protection. So much for a fresh start. PAHA!
Hunter is quickly captivated by the new girl across the street. Watching her move about her own little world has him hooked from the beginning. But when she’s taken away by the police, he has to find a way to stay in her life. As the secrets around the case unravel, danger and intrigue continue to build…with Addy right at the center of it all.
Squeee! Okay, people. This book is LIFE. When Addy and Hunter meet, their explosive attraction and the growing threat of a serial killer makes Addy’s new life more interesting than she could have ever imagined. In a good way? Eh, that’s debatable.
Nikki Rose is flawless. I’m just so in love with this book.
