Summary:
Ashes to ashes.
Dust to dust.
And all that f–king shit.
I had killed.
I had sacrificed.
The innocent and the corrupt. I knew blood, and I knew violence.
Never imagining I could know love, too.
Mia Ryder was a woman to love. To cherish. To f–king claim. Now, forever, and every day in between.
If there was anyone I’d go to hell and back for, it was her.
Even if it meant going to war with…my f–king brother.
First Line:
“I watched with stone cold eyes as the shiny white casket was lowered into the earth’s soil. The heavens were weeping right along with me, raindrops seeping into my black jacket.
Burning my core.
Little by little.
Deeper and deeper.”
Narrator Review (Marnye Young):
Marnye is my favorite female narrator after listening to this audiobook. Listen to that sample clip and there will be no question about it! She is flawless as Mia. F-L-A-W-L-E-S-S. I was crying during the prologue. Stop it, Marnye.
Marnye doesn’t only become Mia, she emanates Mia. I have always loved her narrations, but Ends Here really showcases this quality of her voice. I could feel the glances, the touches. With every description I could see the images right in front of my eyes. Do I have voice envy? Umm yes.
Gaawd let’s not even talk about the uncertainly in Marnye’s voice. Those perfect inflections when Mia is scared. RUINED. ME.
I don’t know what else to say other than Ends Here is a 5-star book, and Marnye is a 10-star narrator. She makes anything and everything sound good. This is her best narration yet.
Narrator Review (Conner Goff):
Conner. YaaaOK this man is dangerous. I can’t think of his interpretation of Creed without fanning my face. How am I supposed to explain my bizarre reaction to his voice to onlookers? What if I pass out from swooning while I’m driving!?
Conner’s voice is tantalizing. It crescendos and decrescendos at perfect intervals. It’s like I’m being lured into some vocal heaven. Deep and gravely, but still sweet and pure.
While listening to Ends Here I felt like Conner and Marnye voices intermingled oh-so perfectly. They crested at the same time, their emotions tearing me to pieces. This pair created a totally epic wave that I was more than happy to drown in.
Like I said. Dangerous.
Book Review:
Oh god. My heart hurts.
Mia is in love with Creed, but she ends up getting knocked up by Creed’s brother, Noah. I guess that means Mia is in love with Noah, too. Right?
Baby, I claimed you the day you were born. You were made for me.
Claim ME! I volunteer as tribute! I can tell you this: both men are CERTAINLY in love with Mia.
This is everyone’s dream, right? Two devilishly handsome – and different – men fighting for one woman’s heart. Swoon. Except Mia is totally preggers with her one true love’s brother’s sexy baby! Noah’s manly hands were all over her goods while Creed denied her sweet loving. (I bet Creed regrets that decision now, hur hur)
Who is Mia going to choose now that both men want her?
Ends Here is the epic conclusion to Mia’s story. She grows as a young woman, she accepts the fear, and embraces her decision. Since this is Noah vs. Creed, I have to say that Noah is probably my favorite. Sweet, caring, loving. Creed is just… hot. I mean, he’s HOT… but with hot comes heartache.
Noah 1 Creed 0
Luckily for Mia, all facets of Creed come to life. He shows his vulnerability, his heart, and the adorning characteristics he shares with his bro bro that I love so much.
Noah 1 Creed 1
Oh god. My head hurts.
It was like being pulled by a string he was controlling. Luring me right to him. Then when we spoke, I could see it in his eyes, hear it in his voice. He loves me.
There is some good news amidst all of this heart wrenching suspense. The police make it easy for Mia to make a decision! How? Well, there is a warrant out for Creed’s arrest.
Problem solved! Now she can live happily ever after with the tall dark and blandsome Noah!
*Snort* if only her decision were so easy. We follow Mia as she is pulled in 3 different directions: towards Noah, Creed, and a path that doesn’t involve either of them. Is option 3 really an option, though? It’s going to be one of these men, THAT I can tell you.
M. Robinson has created a stunning sequel to Road to Nowhere. I (like most of you) am not a fan of sequels not living up to their predecessors, but Ends Here is absolutely divine. Ends Here is the best audiobook I’ve listened to since, well, Road to Nowhere.
Mia is being placed through the wringer, but M. Robinson makes my decision easy. 5-stars.
OMG HOW EXCITING! I CAN’T WAIT TO LISTEN TO BOOK 2!!!! Thank you NDP for reviewing this. Creed gets arrested?! Does Mia end up with Noah! I can’t wait 😀
Oooo you are in for a tornado of a ride, pretties! This book is going to wreck you…

*HITS HEAD ON TABLE HARD!
Vanny this second installment is better than the first. The resolution to the angst IS FINALLY HERE!! Whoop! Or is it?… hur hur
