Submit to Mondays

Owner and Book Reviewer

Monday is my favorite day of the week. When people ask me why, their coffee withdrawaled posture suggests they’re not equally as thrilled as me that the weekend is over.

Mondays are awesome, and I’m going to tell you why Monday is now your favorite day, too.

Did you have a week of hell and wallow in self pity all weekend? Well, Monday is your second chance. And the best news is that Monday loves you unconditionally. Unlike that ex-boyfriend who had wandering eyes, Monday has its sight on you and is dedicated to your success no matter your mood. You just have to submit.

If you want to be successful, you gotta do what successful people do: make Sundays special and get ready to attack Monday like a lioness atop an antelope. Many times, the “Monday blues” comes from not properly unwinding from the weekend. Take some you-time and focus on rejuvenating yourself for the week ahead. Whether you’re going to write that book, be a better partner or a better lover, why hold yourself back from greatness by dragging your lethargic personality into the one day that absolutely determines your success for the week?

You are about to accomplish things, and you might not get the recognition you need at work—trust me, I know how that feels—but I’m telling you now, integrity is what you do when no one is watching. So be a BOSS! Let your work be the foundation you build your reputation upon. Your boss/partner/friend might not appreciate you, but someone out there does, and when you succumb to the Monday blues, you turn your back on opportunities to get what you want in life.

Wake up early (or sleep in), get a good namaste on (or veg out), just be sure to align your ducks in a row and get your .22 lever action ready to fire. Tasks will come flying at you come Tuesday, and you don’t need any weight holding you down from your launch toward awesomeness. And you know what? You’re ready for this, because Monday is your Anna and you are Christian Freaking Grey.

No, don’t procrastinate. That’s what got you here in the first place. But don’t worry because Monday is coming, and you have the power to finally get what you want.

During the day, I'm a structural engineer. When I'm not a total introvert, I enjoy being alone, flying in the backcountry, hiking, and paddle boarding with my dog, Apollo. Mondays are my favorite day of the week, I love my family, and each day I give the world all that I can.

Love ❤️ it!!! Strangely, Monday has always been my favorite day. I say this because it’s the day I get to get back to writing after I’ve given myself to the weekend and the wonderful family and friends who spend it with me. Love them all, but that me-time is so important so that I can enjoy family as well. Make sense?
    Thanks again, India for sharing.

THAT ABSOLUTELY makes sense! I feel you, sister! I just got back from San Francisco this week and I’m so totally behind…but Monday is coming! Eep!
