*FTC Disclaimer: I received a review copy of Three Blind Dates from AudiOMG! in exchange for an honest review. I have in no way been influenced by the author, narrators and/or publisher’s generosity.
“Good Morning Malibu, it’s another beautiful day on the west coast! I’m Noely Clark, your host: and I’m in the market for love…”
When the publicity team of the new local restaurant, Going in Blind, began their search for a hot, local celebrity to promote the wildly popular eatery, they couldn’t have found a better person than me.
Open to finding love? Check.
I signed up immediately.
A hopeless romantic with an exceedingly demanding schedule, I’ve found it impossible to find the man of my dreams—so Going in Blind seems too good to be true! That’s until they start setting me up on dates—three very different, very attractive, very distinct blind dates—and only one thing is for certain . . .
I’m in big trouble.
“Good Morning Malibu,
I’m Noely Clark, and I have a choice to make.
The question is who will I choose; the suit, the rebel, or the jock.”
First Line: “Noely, my office. Now.”
Narrator Review (Ava):
Ava is absolutely one my favorite female narrators right now. I go through these stages of being totally obsessed when I find the perfect voice, and I’m completely bewitched right now.
Want someone refined and polished? Ava. Quirky and awkward? Ava. I mean, this is a no-brainer, people. I’m giving you all the answers to your questions: Ava. Erickson.
Three Blind Dates really showcases Ava’s versatility. She’s the full package. I mean, she has to be when she’s dating three men for crying out loud! I envy her resilience. Ooo…wait. I’m getting Ava mixed up with Noely, our lead. See, that happens with Ava. Told you she was good.
Bewitched, my friends. Bewitched.
Narrator Review (Aiden):
Aiden Snow. This man’s voice is all consuming. I need to carry my rescue beacon 24/7 around this avalanche. Just rip me open and eat my heart, why dontcha?
I’ve only recently been introduced to the rich chocolate of Aiden’s tone. My gawwd, he really does put his own special brand on my ears.
My favorite part about Aiden’s narrations is his timing. Listening to him is just so…easy. I find myself breathing with his words. There are no restrictions or limits to his talent. Dip Ava into his pool of HOT, and we’ve got ourselves perfection.
Noely Clark has it all. Beauty, brains, and a great career as a “Good Morning, Malibu” host. At twenty-seven, our girl is ready to settle down in a real relationship. She wants to take her romantic life to the next level. But she’s finding that her celebrity status is getting in the way.
That’s the sad thing about being a celebrity. People know you for your TV personality more than for who you are. We know all about that, dun we ladies? 😉
So, Noely signs up for a saucy event at a new popular local restaurant, Going in Blind. The restaurant focuses only on blind dates using dating video profiles to match up prospective couples. (Are the dates virtual, too? Because that sounds naughty…#AskMeOutSoICanBlockYou)
As part of the promotion, Noely goes on three very different blind dates: one with a businessman (yussss), one with a rebel (ooh, I could get used to this), and one with a jock (I’m sorry, what? I was too busy drooling). Each of them attractive. Each of them wonderful in their own way.
“Despite the welcoming atmosphere, I can’t help but feel nervous…There’s something to say about a blind date: the anticipation, the unknown, the knowledge that you’re having dinner with someone to possibly form a romantic relationship.”
What she doesn’t expect is the fact that she has to choose one.
I don’t know what I would do. No, actually I do. I’m a simple girl lol. But Noely…*tsk tsk* our sweet Noely is stranded in a desert with three dreamy dudes and she can’t seem to decide which tall glass of water to drink out of.
“A fit of giggles takes over me, filling the air between us…”
Yeah, I’m giggling at the fact that Noely can’t make up her mi-i-ind!
She seems to know what she wants, though. She’s just struggling with the execution. She wants a man that is just as comfortable cuddling on the couch watching movies as he is pounding on the glass at a hockey match…or does she? Perhaps she should just indulge in all three. Oh wait, she’s already doing that.
Our stunning damsel is on a path of self discovery as she unveils what she really wants in a man. Noely’s “journey” is totally endearing, but what is most captivating about this book is the descriptive language. Meghan Quinn is the queen of underlying emotion. I’ll laugh my face off all while my heart aches!
Lemme just say this: I’ll take 1/3 of the businessman, 1/3 of the rebel hottie, and 1/3 of the jock. I don’t know why Noely is having such a difficult time. Amateur. 😉
